HUNGRY EYE presents a Short docu about sara punt.

We present a beautiful short film that captures the essence of Sara Punt’s artistic process. She tapes off parts of the body to reveal only the image she envisions, a unique and authentic way of working. The concept is not only clearly articulated and thoughtfully explained by the artist herself, but also beautifully captured on film by our talented videographers, Anne van den Hooven and Masao Parris.

A short video explains the work of street photographer J.D.

A recent video shot on the streets of Amsterdam offers a glimpse into the unique working process of street photographer J.D., who follows his own distinctive approach, one that feels more like painting than traditional photography. Color plays a central role in his work, but it’s the small, almost cinematic moments within each frame that truly tell the story. The concept is not only thoughtfully expressed and explained by the artist himself, but also beautifully captured on film by our videographers, Anne van den Hooven and Masao Parris.

A short video shows the working method of rutger ten broeke.

A short film offers insight into the working process of Rutger ten Broeke, a key figure in Dutch photography. His work focuses on the relationship between the female body and nature. Over the years, the nude in his work evolved into a metaphor, interacting with landscapes or interiors in a way that gives meaning to both. He avoids close-ups, aiming instead for a balanced, archetypal connection between subject and environment. His photography is about relationships, vulnerability, and love. The concept is clearly explained by the artist himself and beautifully captured by videographers Anne van den Hooven and Masao Parris.

HUNGRY EYE Gallery introduces julia dongstra

We are please to introduce Julia Dongstra (1990). Julia is a photographer who shares intimate parts of her life with the viewer. Her images express deeply rooted emotions and lived experiences, revealing a personal and vulnerable visual language.

Her work can be described as raw and pure: rugged, untamed landscapes bathed in natural light, often paired with the nude female form. Sometimes this form enters into a dialogue with the surrounding nature. Sometimes it remains completely separate.

In her search for an ideal interplay of form and line, Julia prefers to work, unlike many other photographers, with bright, intense sunlight. This creates sharp, defined shadow lines that both reveal and conceal; light exposes details, while the shadows invite mystery.

HUNGRY EYE Gallery expands its family with Janus van den eijnden.

Janus van den Eijnden is a Dutch photographer and visual artist with over two decades of experience. Rooted in black-and-white photography, his work evokes a quiet, poetic atmosphere through light, shadow, and texture.

In recent years, he has become a pioneer in the use of artificial intelligence, not just as a tool, but as a creative partner. With precision and patience, he crafts prompts that result in AI-generated images with surprising emotional depth.

What sets Janus apart is the harmony between his classical photographic vision and his innovative use of AI. Whether created through a camera or code, his images remain deeply human, bridging the past and future of visual art.

VISSER EN VAN LEEUWEN JOIN the gallery

We are proud to present a new duo to the gallery: Visser en van Leeuwen. In their studio in IJmuiden, where light settles quietly on the floor and stories seem to linger in the air, Visser & van Leeuwen create. Not ordinary designers or artists, but storytellers of space. With their hands, they build worlds where the line between reality and imagination blurs to near invisibility. Everything they make begins with a journey — not always far from home, but always deep within. Their designs are whispered narratives in form and color. They give shape to memories you thought you'd forgotten, and to encounters that never truly happened, yet somehow still linger. Each piece is a stop, a character, a place: Greg, Els, Sara, Zilver, Nouk, Kebri, Olaf, John — names that sound like chapters from a story without a fixed path, but with a heartbeat that draws you in.

Haute Photographie changes into The Hungry Eye Fair in september

To those who have followed us for years, this might come as a surprise: changing your name after ten years – and that of a successful event. However, we believe in the power of collaboration between various labels and brands that share a common goal: to promote fine art photography in the Netherlands. That’s why GUP Magazine, Artibooks, Fresh Eyes, Collectibles, and Kahmann Gallery are now united under a single name: Hungry Eye Group.

Supported by a number of companies and partners who fully endorse this mission, the Hungry Eye Group marks the beginning of a new chapter. From this moment on, we move forward together.

You can already find us online at www.hungryeyegroup.com. In the coming weeks, all labels will be rebranded under this new identity.

Gallery Fair Practice Code
