Deana Nastic

The Hungry Eye Gallery is thrilled to announce the addition of internationally established photographer Deana Nastic to our roster. Originally from Serbia and now based in Toronto, Nastic holds a profound foundation in fine arts from the University of Belgrade. Her background as a painter and watercolourist deeply informs her photographic vision; since embracing the camera in 2012, she has treated it as a new "painting tool," seamlessly translating the fluidity and expressive nuance of watercolour into the photographic medium.

Nastic’s work is celebrated for its lyrical interplay of light and shadow, capturing a spectrum of psychological depth and the feminine mystique. Through long exposures and unconventional lighting, she transforms fleeting moments into luminous, painterly reflections on memory, grief, and the human condition. Widely exhibited across the USA, Europe, and Canada since her breakthrough 2016 solo exhibition, Nastic’s hauntingly beautiful and deeply poetic imagery is a spectacular addition to the gallery.
